Heyooo!
I hope you’re off to a raging start to 2018!
How fast did that first month just go by? Damn…
I’ve been getting a few questions about my 2018 plans, so I thought why not just write up a post about it!?
Here’s all my plans (that I’ve made so far) for 2018 in regards to the direction of this blog, my travels … And our wedding!! Haha it still feels so weird saying that…
The Direction Of Intrepid Introvert
To be honest, I’ve kicked off 2018 feeling a little uninspired with my blog and I don’t know why…
No wait, I do know why. I know exactly why…
When I first started Intrepid Introvert it was so I could share stuff that’s personal to me. To be able to share my personal growth, in the hopes to inspire other introverts (and anyone else for that matter) to find who they are too. And as well as to share my travels, because travel is a huge part of my life and what has helped my personal growth and done wonders to my confidence.
But over the last 2 years I feel I’ve lost my way with this.
I feel like Intrepid Introvert has lost its personality and its mission.
My posts became less about personal experience and more the boring old typical travel posts you can find all over the internet.
Intrepid Introvert lost its identity.
It got to the point where I never felt like writing anymore because all I was writing about was boring destination guides. Personally, that doesn’t really make me want to get out of bed in the morning…
So after some real reflection and some words to myself, I have vowed that this year I will turn that around.
I will be posting a lot more personal posts and a lot more introvert related posts. Because that’s what inspires me to write.
I’ll still post lots of travel content too as travel will still be a big part of my life in 2018. And I want you to be able to find your needed travel info here too!
So yessss that’s my goal for the blog this year… Oh and perhaps start doing videos of my own too? Yes? No? Does anyone even want to watch that haha!?
Travel Plans For 2018
Nate and I have just booked 2 trips this week which spans over the first half of the year.
We are staying in New Zealand until mid April because we do love a good kiwi summer. We’ve just got a jet ski here and all our friends and family are here… So at the moment we are loving being home.
Except today. Today it’s raining and it’s windy AF haha.
So in mid April we are heading to the Sunshine Coast, Australia! We just booked an apartment in Maroochydore for one month. Basically it will be a month of sun, beach, coffee, work, beach, work, beers, sun, coffee, sun, gin. Just the basics.
Sunshine Coast was actually my first destination I went to when I first started traveling full time over 3 years ago. We stayed for 1 month and I absolutely loved the lifestyle over there. Safe to say I’m pretty excited to head back as it’s quite the sentimental place to me.
In mid May we head back to NZ for one week before flying back to Europe! We’ll be meeting my mum and step dad over in Italy and traveling to France together and possibly Spain.
This is a trip I’m extremely excited for. We never get to take trips like this with family…
Over the years, Nate and I always experience amazing moments and just wish we had our families there to experience it all with us. We’ve been traveling for over 3 years now and while it’s absolutely incredible, sometimes we just wish we could share it all with our families back home. And this year we can!
That is everything that is planned so far. From June we are thinking of staying in Portugal for a while then probably head to South East Asia… Europe isn’t nice on the pockets, so SEA could be a solid choice.
We won’t be back to NZ until October for a friend’s wedding. Which leads me to my next point of…..
An Intrepid Introvert & World Nate Wedding??
You may or may not have seen that Nate proposed in Prague on my birthday (December 23rd). Biggest surprise ever! I don’t know how on earth he pulled that off without me knowing about it. We are together 24/7 when we travel, so being able to keep it a surprise is a good feat!
Now that we are home, the planning is starting to get into motion… Though no plans have been made haha. The date will probably be March-ish 2019 in New Zealand. I’m thinking of writing posts about my experience with it all and the planning + emotions you go through. It can all be pretty overwhelming (hence why we just hired a wedding planner lol!).
It’s only the start of February and this year already sounds quite busy….
But would I want to have it any other way?
Nope!
What are your plans/goals for 2018?
Perhaps we’ll cross paths!
See ya over on the next post,
Hannah

Nice post, think that is a good idea to post more personal posts. I am not such a fan of videos, though some can be good. Your decision. 🙂 So, happy travels and good luck to you two!
